TGIF 2.4

….I no know wetin I do wey make im love me so,  The other day, I was going through my TGIF series online when I got a call from a school I had applied to, concerning a PhD program.  All along I never wanted to get a PhD cos I had this “misconception” that people who do so are doing too much ajayi work; they are getting too much book/education. I applied to the school to get a masters degree but whoever got my application called me and asked “Lady, do you realize you already have a masters in a similar program. I said “yes I know, I just want a second masters”. I hung up and called back.

Just to run my mouth and see what she would say, I asked her about their PhD program and my chances of getting accepted. She said “ahh, you will need experience, blah blah blah…”I said, “I have so and so experience, does that count?” “Oh you do, huh? Ok, let me enquire and call you back”. I talked to family and friends, and they encouraged me to apply, saying there’s nothing wrong in getting all the degrees blocking your way. I applied and paid my 100 bucks…”ok, God that 100 bucks cant go for free. Just because I made this payment, let me be accepted in Jesus name”. For the application, I needed to take a professional exam, but I was too tied up and lazy to study for the exam. Since I didn’t take the exam, I assumed I wouldn’t get in.

Few minutes after I woke up, I received a call from an unknown no; I was gonna ignore it, since I don’t answer unknown calls, but I picked this particular call. The caller introduced herself as a representative from the school I applied to and apologized for calling early. She started with “I am sorry…..” Oh great, didn’t they send out emails and letters of rejection? Why is she calling my phone to tell me that…these were my thoughts especially when she started with “I am sorry for……..calling so early. I just wanted to congratulate you for your acceptance into the doctorate program. I put in the wrong forms for you, but I wanted to tell you that I am sending out the correct one today”. Haaaaaaaaaa, Jesus I thank you well well, I go follow you papa, you do good for me, well well. To think they called me before the deadline for application. Every place my blessings have been stacked and hidden, God begin to resurrect them and bring them out. I call them out in Jesus name, Amen.

No one has the power to mess up God’s plans for you. The only thing they can do is to slow it down. When you have the right person from God, they assist the plan, when you have the wrong person, the only thing they can do is slow it down, but remember God said I know the plans I have for you, thoughts of good and not evil, to give “you and I” an expected end. Nobody has taken the best years of your life cos God is the author and finisher of your faith.  Anybody that tangled with you in the past, just took one boring page/chapter. But remember that some books get boring before they get interesting.

Oh by the way, before you ask me if I am gonna accept the admission or decline, please show some class at least by saying “congrats” first…..mschewwww!!!!! Naija!

I am grateful for the ability to use the bathroom/toilet/restroom whenever I want; it’s only when you have worn diaper, as an adult, that you will appreciate the ability to hold your urine/stool or go to the bathroom whenever you want. Just today, I watched a 17 year old girl undergo colon resection cos of bowel obstruction; when her colon was removed, it was 10X the normal size and guess what was filled in it? Hard stool. When you don’t have constipation or diarrhea….praise God cos you don’t know what people that have these,  are going through. I kept saying to myself “she’s too young to be going through this, she’s too young to be going through this kind of surgery”….Next time, don’t forget to eat your fruits/vegetables/ and fiber diet. I know I don’t, but this experience has taught me a lesson.

I am grateful for sustenance; I stood for 8hrs today at work and anybody who knows me would know that standing and I are not in good terms. We do not live in the same zip code, so I am grateful that I did not pass out.

I am grateful for one of the “bestest” sis in the WWW; she’s graduating as an MD tomorrow. (Oh snap, I can’t hook her up with Danny cos he has an aversion and allergy to female Drs)

I am grateful for parents; when you are young, you think they are dumb/stupid/foolish/archaic/fond of embarrassing you in public or any negative thing you can think of, but when you grow older, you learn to appreciate certain things about parenthood and you wonder, how in the world they were able to take care of you and your big head for all these years.

I am grateful for YouTube….I can’t remember when last I purchased a song, without listening to it first on YouTube. Who am I kidding? I don’t remember when last I purchased a song…chikena!

I am grateful for facebook….not for the negative stories but for the old &good friends it reconnected me to. Have searched for some of my old school mates. I went through school forum, everything….nothing, but it was Facebook that revealed some of them.

I am grateful for all my ardent “commenters” and readers; I am grateful for an anonymous person that search for my blog online, almost everyday. I am grateful to Cider for reminding me about the grateful post.

I am grateful to you and for you, yes you reading this now. Have a blessed weekend.
